I'm not sure how the other commenters are getting 4K 60Hz, but I think I've tried everything, and the results I've got are in line w/ the specs I could find. This is the part that solves the problem. For EACH monitor listed on the left hand side of the window, uncheck 'Use custom display name system wide' and SAVE using File -> Save (it will save 'modified' at the bottom right corner of the window if you dont).
Also according to Dell, late 2013 rMBP has DP 1.2, which should be able to do 4K 60HzĪnd according to Wikipedia, DP 1.1a is limited to HBR, which is limited to 30 Hz at 4K / 3840 × 2160. Go to System Preferences and open SwitchResX. I think it's because the early 2013 rMBP is limited to DP 1.1a, according to Dell.
